Collaboration between trade associations and educational institutes is one of the best ways to encourage and promote young generation to be a part of the industry and get better exposure.
Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts (EPCH) and Tirthankar Mahavir University (TMU), Moradabad have come together and signed an MoU for MBA courses with specialisation in Handicrafts Export Management.
The first session of the said course will commence from August 2020.
EPCH supports export of soft goods (apparel and home furnishing) through its international sourcing events, and believes that in the long run the course will benefit apparel and home furnishing exporters too.
EPCH is planning to initiate more efforts to undertake similar arrangements with various other universities in India.
Further on the same, Rakesh Kumar, DG – EPCH, said “Students pursuing MBA in Handicraft Export Management will register their presence in the handicrafts sector as new taskforce. Exporters of handicrafts sector will get the benefit of this taskforce as these students will gain comprehensive knowledge of this sector. The exporters will benefit significantly from these professionally qualified youth.”
He added “Till now exporters had to put more efforts to get such a skilled young workforce, which sometimes took a lot of time.”
