‘Bogus’ talent search firms using professionals’ database!

Most of us are aware of the misuse of social media, but professionals need to be more careful of Linkedin too – especially with regard to job opportunities and the authenticity of the person or organisation that offers the job.

One such company is Careermark6, Bangalore against whom serious allegations have been made! Careermark6, which claims to be a talent search cell exclusively for the fashion industry, has been accused of using LinkedIn aggressively for hiring apparel and textile professionals for its clients.

Many senior professionals have openly criticised Gopaal Kr (GK) Saluja, the CEO & Founder of the agency.

Reacting to one of the hiring posts of Gopaal, Bobby Rajesh Mehta, DMM in an export house commented, “Please stop making fool of people by inviting CVs and making databases. You never pick calls or respond. Bogus Agency.” This opinion was echoed by 10 professionals.

Raman Dutta, a well-known industry professional, reacted and said “fake jobs.” Some other professionals have also reacted strongly and made serious allegations against the company.

Similarly, few other requirement-related posts of Gopaal also received similar negative reactions.

Gopaal, speaking to Team Apparel Resources, shared “Whatever they (professionals) criticised on Linkedin, is baseless. We only reply to eligible candidates, so rest of them who are not selected or don’t deserve to be selected for the required posts react unreasonably.”

He further added that his 15-year-old agency places 6 to 7 professionals every month and has even helped a top brand to set up its sourcing office in India.

Whatever is the truth, professionals need to doubly ensure in such cases to avoid any further misuse of their information.
