Annual supplier conferences or meets are instrumental in strengthening mutual relations between global brands, retailers and their suppliers. There is no denying that awarding the best suppliers remains one of the major attractions for the suppliers, as these awards not only recognise their best practices, but also motivate them to improve their overall services.
In the last few days, many international brands and retailers had their annual supplier conferences and interestingly, among all the apparel manufacturers worldwide, Indian apparel manufacturers proved to be the best suppliers. To mention few, Orient Craft (OC) Gurgaon was awarded by Argos (Sainsbury’s). The company’s sweater division (OC Sweaters LLP) got the best suppliers award for the year 2018 and the award was received by Sudhir Dhingra, CMD and Sujata Bajaj Khanna, President of the company and Rakesh Choudhary, COO, at sweater division. OC Sweaters has been associated with Argos (Sainsbury’s) since last 5 years.
Notably, the above event took place in Hong Kong and there were around 50 to 60 apparels vendors from across the globe.
Similarly, Aditya Birla, Bangalore, Matrix Clothing and Richa Global, Gurgaon also won the awards from Superdry brand. The award was received by Gautam Nair, MD, and Adarsh Sharan, VP, Matrix Clothing.
The Superdry event took place at UK where around 100 plus vendors from across the globe were present. Aditya Birla group was honoured as a global vendor while Matrix Clothing and Richa Global were honoured as key suppliers and part of millionaire club. It is pertinent to note that In India, Superdry has around total 16 vendors for apparels.
Quality, timely delivery, compliance and sustainability are some of the major parameters considered by brands before awarding the best suppliers.
