Indian retail sector is on a growth path and catering to its overwhelming demands call for a lot, the first and foremost of which is understanding the requirements.

Aimed to answer all the relevant queries and to get a better perspective of the Indian fashion retail scenario, ASW conducted a very important vendor session on Day 2 of the event.

Titled ‘Vendor Session-Requirements of Sourcing For Indian Retail by Myntra Jabong India’, Neetu Jotwani, Vice President (Sourcing and Product Development), Myntra spoke on length on various aspects pertaining to sourcing parameters and other requirements specific to the Indian retail sector and how a manufacturer could successfully meet the requirements of brands/retailers.

“Speed, Agility and Technology are the keys to serve today’s customers,” underlined Neetu Jotwani, Vice President-Sourcing and Product Development, Myntra, adding, “The main ingredients to a successful organisation are the Quality of the Products and a Clear Consumer Understanding.”

Apart from the combination of speed, technology and flexibility, manufacturers need to look carefully at the other aspects as well, she emphasised.

“The mindset of the manufacturers is what needs to be changed, as today the customers are striving for new and want to stand out from the crowd everyday,” explained Neetu to help the vendors to fine-tune and upgrade their capabilities to make a successful foray into the Indian fashion retail sector.

It may be mentioned here that Myntra operates as a standalone brand under Flipkart ownership, focusing primarily on“fashion-conscious” consumers. By 2014, when Flipkart acquired Myntra, its portfolio included about 1,50,000 products of over 1,000 brands, with a distribution area of around 9,000 pin codes in India.

The online giant has exclusive sourcing rights for many of the brands on its platform including celebrity brand HRX.
