Much like his team mates from the Indian cricket team, Shikhar Dhawan has also forayed into the entrepreneurship by launching a home décor brand, named DaONE Home, along with his wife Aesha Dhawan.
Initially, the brand will offer soft furnishing goods like bed linen, cushions and table linens and later expand with offerings such as glassware, hardwoods and much more.
Notably, this is not the first time an Indian cricketer has tried their fortunes as an entrepreneur, Virat Kohli, Yuvraj Singh and MS Dhoni have also launched their apparel offerings successfully which are popular among the younger generation.
Speaking on this development, Dhawan shared how he and his wife were excited and passionate about their new endeavour. He said, “We were very specific while setting up our home and that is when we realised that we both are passionate and have very distinctive style, a natural extension of our own personalities. That stayed with me and the idea to start something individually, about which I can feel passionate about, was always there. DaONE Home is result of that,” Dhawan said.
Additionally, the Indian cricketer refused to reveal amount of investment, he reportedly cited that it’s entirely his personal money. “I come from a business family and have seen and learned from my father since childhood. It was always in me and it was just a matter of time,” he added.
The brand will provide its products online via its exclusive marketplace on DaONE’s home website and will later collaborate with other e-commerce firms in the country. Offline stores will be considered later.
