Consinee, a major Chinese spinner and exporter of cashmere yarn, debuted its runway show in New York City in July to demonstrate its full range of yarn technology. The show, the first of its kind to be offered by a Chinese textile company in the United States, is titled "Into the Lines," alluding to the conceptual interpretation of cashmere yarn. Models present creations made with Consinee yarns during "Into the Lines" runway show in New York, the United States, July 18, 2018.

Chinese-German designer Yujia Zhai-Petrow, the director of the show said that," Rather than presenting a conventional knitwear collection, the 'Into the Lines' show contemplates and explores the luxury of cashmere and its sundry potentials activated through a synthesis with new disciplines.”

Founded in 1999 in Ningbo city of east China's Zhejiang Province, the group now produces 10,000 tons of yarn a year, which is enough to produce 30 million pieces of clothes.

Xue Jingli, CEO of Consinee Group, said he hoped the show can demonstrate Consinee's dedication to excellence and inspire the company's clients with new possibilities. The company generates about 400 million U.S. dollars of revenue every year, 80 percent to 90 percent of which comes from overseas markets, said Xue. He added that, U.S. businesses account for 35 percent while the European market accounts for about 10 percent of Consinee's total revenue.
