India’s cotton yarn exports reached US $ 5.21 billion in FY ’22 as compared to US $ 2.71 billion in FY ’21, tapping 92.32 per cent growth on yearly basis.
The exports of cotton yarns almost doubled in just one year despite domestic outrages.
Bangladesh topped the list as it accounted for 41.65 per cent of total cotton yarn shipment from India. Valuing US $ 2.17 billion, India’s cotton yarn export to Bangladesh upped by a whopping 234.35 per cent in FY ’22.
Export to China valued US $ 776.04 million, noting 16.43 per cent Y-o-Y growth, whereas Portugal accounted for US $ 246.17 million (up 103.14 per cent) of total India’s cotton yarn shipment in FY ’22.
The other countries that have increased cotton yarn sourcing from India during FY ’22 were Vietnam, Egypt, Peru, South Korea, Turkey, Colombia, Sri Lanka, Guatemala, Germany, Italy, Jordan and USA, amongst many more.
