Himatsingka Seide Ltd, one of the largest producers of home textiles in India, has incorporated a wholly-owned subsidiary in Europe. This will help the company strengthen its distribution network in the EU. The Himatsingka Group operates one of the largest capacities in the world for producing upholstery fabrics, drapery fabrics and bed linen products.

"The company has incorporated a wholly-owned subsidiary in Europe namely 'Himatsingka Europe Ltd', which is registered with the Registrar of Companies for England and Wales on February 17, 2017. This will help to strengthen the distribution network in Europe," Himatsingka Seide said in a regulatory filing with the Bombay Stock Exchange.

Himatsingka Seide, the drapery and upholstery division of the Bangalore based Himatsingka Group, has a vertically integrated manufacturing facility from pre-weaving yarn preparation to post-weaving finishing processes. The facility was built with a vision to produce drapery and upholstery products that epitomise cutting edge design and quality. Over the years, its design and product development capabilities have paved the way to create products for the most recognised brands in the world.

Himatsingka Seide's manufacturing facility at Doddaballapur in Karnataka (India) employees around 700 people. It has an installed capacity of 2.2 million metres per annum of fabrics for drapery and upholstery applications. The facility manufactures a wide range of fabrics from ultra lightweight sheers to heavy velvets in a variety of weaves from simple dobbies to very complex jacquards. This facility is equipped to weave fabrics on high-density warps with a repeat size of up to 140 cm.

The Group's design studios in New York, Milan and Bangalore have over the years created an archive of over 25,000 products. The teams add 1,500 new products to its library every year. (RKS)
