Across India, vaccination drive is on full swing and various garment factories are also getting their workers vaccinated.
Bengaluru garment factories, where lakhs of workers were struggling few days back to get vaccinated, are now amongst top priority of the Government.
Tejasvi Surya, Member of Parliament, Bangalore South, has said that garment employees, who are frontline workers, need to be protected against the virus.
He also visited one of the garment factories and observed the process in this regard.
Various apparel manufacturing units in Bengaluru are arranging vaccination drives. Creative International and Royal Exports in BTM Layout have held such drives successfully for more than 500 employees.
Vaccination becomes more challenging for those workers who work in small factories that can’t arrange such drives in their premises. If these workers try to get the vaccine from a Government centre, they could lose additional wages as they might have to wait for a long time.
However, many of these companies are now trying to get their workers vaccinated.
The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), the city’s civic body, has also said that the garment factory workers are to be inoculated on a priority basis.
